About
Hello, and thanks for checking out my site.
My name is Cresta and I am a product designer. I have been professionally working in the design field for 15 years and have worn many hats as a designer. I started my journey as a classically trained graphic artist learning design principles coupled with organization, discipline and research. Throughout my career, I have continued to learn and educate myself on what the next milestone in my journey would be. I started getting into web design and through web design I learned about web architecture and user experience design.
What I love most about my work is there are no boundaries to the extent of what needs design. It is everywhere, and is needed at every level. I am most passionate about how something is designed and what problems it is trying to solve. Everything from signage and logos to physical products and digital products need to be effective in its communication and execution in order to do the job that it was intended to do. In other words design is vital but is also difficult to notice when it is done well.
As Donald Norman the author of everyday things says "Good design is actually a lot harder to notice than poor design, in part because good designs fit our needs so well that the design is invisible.”
As a Ux designer I strive for solving problems using design thinking, research, observations coupled my eye for design. I see the role of a Ux design as a liaison between what business wants and the customer/user needs. By uncovering new insights through qualitative and qualitative research and sharing this information with stakeholders I can influence the design of a product. Through the iterative process the results are sometimes it can even be better than what the business expected.
As I continue to evolve in my career I have become more interested in what it takes to innovate from a creative standpoint from a business standpoint and from an operations standpoint. These areas are all imperative to launching a successful idea/business/product etc. I continue to enjoy working with teams and solving problems taking in many different perspectives and testing multiple solutions through the iterative process.
